These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Captio mobile application ("the App"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. Use of the App

Captio allows you to:

  • Import videos from your device
  • Generate subtitles
  • Translate text
  • Export edited videos

You agree to use the App only for lawful and non-abusive purposes.

2. License

Captio grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App in accordance with these Terms.

All intellectual property rights in the App belong to the Developer.

3. User Content

  • All videos remain stored only on your device.
  • The Developer has no access to your videos or audio.
  • You are solely responsible for ensuring you have rights to any content you process.

4. Third-Party Services

Captio integrates third-party services including:

  • ElevenLabs
  • Google Cloud Translation
  • RevenueCat
  • Apple (App Store functionalities)

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms.

The Developer is not responsible for third-party outages or behavior.

5. Subscriptions & Payments

  • All subscription purchases are processed through Apple's App Store.
  • Refunds are handled according to Apple's policies.
  • The Developer does not handle or store any billing information.

6. Misuse and Abuse Prevention

We reserve the right to temporarily or permanently limit, suspend, or restrict the App's functionality for any user if we detect suspicious activity, abnormal usage patterns, or behavior that may constitute misuse or abuse.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Excessive subtitle or translation requests
  • Automated or scripted usage
  • Attempts to overload third-party services or App resources
  • Any use outside the intended scope of the App

Such restrictions may be applied without prior notice, and we are not required to provide specific reasons or disclose detection methods.

We may also implement cooldowns, rate limits, or feature restrictions to protect system integrity and ensure fair usage for all users.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is", without any warranties, including:

  • Accuracy of subtitles or translations
  • Uninterrupted functionality
  • Compatibility with all devices
  • Availability of third-party services

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted under Swedish law, the Developer shall not be liable for:

  • Loss of data
  • Device damage
  • Indirect or consequential damages
  • Third-party service failures
  • Inaccurate output from the App

Your sole remedy is to discontinue use of the App.

9. Modifications to the App

  • Features may be modified, added, or removed at any time.
  • The App may be discontinued without notice.

10. Termination

Your right to use the App may be terminated if you:

  • Violate these Terms
  • Tamper with or attempt to reverse engineer the App
  • Engage in misuse or abuse as defined above

Upon termination, you must delete the App from your device.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
